Adding link aggregation to a CN
Triton can use the LACP protocol for link aggregation. Note that the switch must be configured properly including being conifgured to support LACP Fallback
in order to allow the compute nodes to PXE boot if you are aggregating your Admin network. Please contact your switch vendor for further detail on this configuration option if you have any questions.

-
You first need to navigate to the detail page for the compute node you wish to configure an aggregate interface on.
-
Once on that page, you need to click on the Link Aggregation button. This will show you the currently defined link aggregations on the compute node, and give you the option to edit/delete existing aggregations or to create a new aggregation.
-
Clicking on the +Link Aggregation button will present you with the following page, which will list out the available interfaces.
-
At this point, you can select the interfaces you wish to use for your link aggregation. You will also need to decide which NIC tag(s) you want to associate with the aggregation. This NIC tag must already exist.
-
Select your interfaces by putting a check in the selection box for each interface you wish to use.
- You will also need to choose a name for the link aggregation. This can be any alphanumeric identifier, but must end in a number. By convention,
aggrX
is normally used, with the X being a number from 0 to 9.

Be sure to set the LACP Mode appropriately, either to

Once you have entered the information in the appropriate fields and clicked on the Save Aggregation button you will get a confirmation window showing your new aggregation.
- Note: You will need to reboot the compute node for this change to take effect; any changes to link aggregation currently require a reboot, including the addition of nictags.
